CFK 1577

Category: Camp Ulster & Academy

Credits: 0

Ages 8-11 Are you interested in fashion or plan to be a fashion designer then this is the camp for you! In this boot camp, you will spend half the day in the sewing lab, and the other half in the arts studio. In the sewing lab, you will learn sewing and basic construction and create an original project. The sewing lab comes complete with cutting tables, dress forms, sewing machines, sergers and industrial irons. In the art studio, you will have a Project Runway experience with design challenges, a team and a deadline. You will also learn how to construct the fashion figure plus how to draw and design skirts, blouses, dresses and pants. If you know how to sew or draw, that is great, if not, we will teach you. The instructor-to-camper ratio is 1:4/5. Materials fee: $15, payable in camp. KRISTIN FLYNN, Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Fashion Design, will be guiding you through introductory fashion projects with the assistance of SUNY Ulster Fashion Design Program graduates. Since graduating from Parson School of Design with a BFA in fashion design Kristin has had a highly successful career in the fashion industry. She has had years of hands-on experience at the international global level, from high-end design studios to the factory floor. She has worked with top companies including Nike, Ellen Tracy, and Liz Claiborne. As a senior designer and manager she traveled the world and designed for the USA Olympic Barcelona teams as well as individual celebrities including Madonna.
