Future Voices Art Exhibit at SUNY Ulster to Award Local High School Talent
Ulster County high school students will exhibit their art work at Future Voices 2014 opening this month at SUNY Ulster and running through June 6, 2014, at the Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery, on the Stone Ridge campus.
SUNY Ulster’s Visual Arts faculty will award three prizes – for best in show and two runner ups – of gift certificates to Catskill Art Supply.
The exhibit, featuring a diverse media ranging from traditional drawing and painting to sculpture and digital arts, will open with a reception May 22, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the gallery.
Participating schools include Kingston, Saugerties, Rondout Valley, Ellenville, Onteora, Wallkill and John A. Coleman. Each school will display at least a half dozen pieces selected by their art teachers and all works submitted will be considered for the three awards.
The Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and by appointment. It is closed on college holidays. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (845) 687-5113.
