If youâ€™ve ever wanted to learn about amateur (â€œhamâ€) radio, itâ€™s time to do something about it! This class gives you everything you need to sit for the written examination for an FCC Technician class amateur radio license. Here are just a few of the things you can do with this license - â€¢ Talk with other hams all over the world â€¢ Operate your own ham radio position-reporting system (APRS) â€¢ Communicate with satellites and the International Space Station (ISS) â€¢ Send and receive digital communications through your computer â€¢ Operate through local repeater systems â€¢ Operate ham radio television and computer radio photos (ATV and SSTV) â€¢ Perform community service as a ham radio responder On the last evening, you will take the FCC exam - if you pass, you will leave as a licensed ham radio operator! No prior experience is needed.
