With the majority of HVAC service calls being electrical in nature, it is important for technicians to have a solid understanding of electrical fundamentals allowing them to develop a systematic and methodical procedure for troubleshooting. Electrical Basics for the HVAC Contractor provides students and practicing technicians with the information and knowledge necessary to form a foundation of electrical skills and be able to describe the components of an atom, how electrons flow through conductors, what conductivity is, the difference between parallel and series circuits, voltage and current resistance, AC and DC voltage, single phase and three phase, Ohm’s Law and how to read ladder diagrams. Course includes a lab component. Materials needed: scientific calculator
