In the laboratory, students learn techniques and skills required for the separation, purification, and identification of organic compounds and the synthesis of organic compounds using substitution and elimination mechanisms. The laboratory work also includes an introduction to instrumental methods such as gas chromatography and infrared spectroscopy for the identification of organic compounds 4 hrs. lab. Lab fee. Prerequisite/corequisite: CHE 201. Fall
