Ages 11-15 Using the free version of Construct2 and Spriter, students will see how cool it is to create animated characters and implement in a 2D game! Starting with planning the game story, students will progress to creating the characters and finally implementing those animated sprites in game. Lots of problem solving and challenges await you! Prerequisite: Experience in game design. DR. CYNTHIA V. MARCELLO is a professor of Computer Science. She teaches numerous programming courses and simulation and game development. She owned a computer consulting business for twenty years and currently is the owner of Ideation Studios, LLC, an independent game design and development company. Throughout the academic year, she runs numerous game jam and hackathon events, interactive fiction competitions, computer science and robotics camps, 4H STEM workshops, and is also an event partner for VEX robotics competitions and tournaments. Lastly, she is the President of the NY Hudson Valley Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) and thoroughly enjoys working with students and teachers in the area of computer science and all things technology!
