SUNY Ulster Holds Police Basic Training Program Information Session on October 12
September 26, 2019 – Kingston, NY – SUNY Ulster will hold an information session on Saturday, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingston Center of SUNY Ulster for individuals interested in pursuing the Evening/Weekend Police Basic Training Program. The Police Basic Training Program will begin on January 4, 2020.
Academy Directors from Ulster County Law Enforcement Training Group (UCLETG) and a SUNY Ulster Admissions representative will share information about the 30-credit program, including eligibility requirements, physical fitness and academic standards, organizational structure, and Academy rules and regulations. Prospective students will also learn about the option to incorporate the certificate into an Associate’s of Applied Science in Criminal Justice degree.
Students who enroll in the Police Basic Training Course may be eligible to receive both Federal and State Financial aid, in addition to Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. scholarships. SUNY Ulster has a long tradition of being named a Top Military Friendly Institution and is approved under the Veteran’s Educational Assistance Act (GI Bill) and the Dependent’s Act.
The two-semester Police Basic Training program at SUNY Ulster begins January 4, 2020 and runs each week from Monday-Thursday from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
