Spring Classes Open to the Public

SUNY Ulster’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education will offer several driving courses this spring. These classes are open to the public and require pre-registration. Course offerings include Driver Education, Defensive Driving Classes, and Adult Driving Private Lessons.

The Driver Education class will be held at the following high schools: Kingston, Rondout Valley, New Paltz, Wallkill, Highland, Onteora, and Saugerties. Classes begin the week of February 19. In addition to the classroom, students are assigned a drive time which is determined at the orientation.

The Defensive Driving Class is designed to help prevent and avoid accidents through techniques developed by the National Safety Council and approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Participants in the 6-hour class can save 10 percent on their auto liability, no-fault, and collision insurance premiums for three years. Classes are scheduled throughout the spring semester at the Stone Ridge and Kingston campuses. The course fee is $50.

The Adult Driver Training class offers 10 private sessions for a fee of $589. Drivers can alternatively choose Adult Driver Class with 5 private sessions for a fee of $330. Students have the option of being picked up at a location convenient to them.

For more information or to register, contact SUNY Ulster Continuing and Professional Education at 845-339-2025 or register online at sunyulster.edu/ce. Pre-registration is required for all courses.
