SUNY Ulster Softball Program Reignited with New Hire, Coach, Taylor Snyder to Lead Senators

After one-year hiatus, team will restart under first year Interim Head Coach

SUNY Ulster announces the hiring of Taylor Snyder to lead the SUNY Ulster Softball program. This is her first Head Coaching opportunity. A native of Saugerties, Snyder was a College of Saint Rose standout softball player for Division II from 2013-2016, finishing as a Second-Team All-Conference player, as well as being nominated as a Top-20 Defensive Player at first base for the entire Northeast.

“I recognize this not only as a challenge, but as an opportunity,” said Snyder. “I understand this will be a building process, but I look forward to competing this season. We have high hopes moving forward.”

“Taylor has worked hard since she joined the College in 2016. I am excited to see her grow in this position,” notes SUNY Ulster Director of Athletics, Matt Brennie.

Snyder previously served as an Athletic Compliance Officer for SUNY Ulster in 2016-2017, as well as an Assistant Softball Coach after graduating from The College of Saint Rose. The Softball program went 0-22 in 2016 and failed to field a team in 2017 under the previous coach.

The SUNY Ulster Softball season opens up March 27th, when the team travels to SUNY Columbia-Greene for a DH. SUNY Ulster students interested in trying out for the team should contact Coach Snyder at snydert@sunyulster.edu.
