The Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. holds its Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Quimby Theater, Vanderlyn Hall, on the Stone Ridge Campus. All are welcome.

This year, through the generosity of many contributors, the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc., as steward of the Scholarship Program, reaches record offerings. 203 students are receiving scholarships amounting to nearly $200,000. Additional scholarships for entering students and College Scholars will be awarded at a ceremony in September, for total Foundation scholarship support of over $350,000 for the 2017-2018 Academic year.

Nadiak Memorial Scholarship will support a student who plans to better the lives of veterans returning home; The Daniel Perez Cueva Scholarship for Immigrants by Darlene L. Two scholarships first awarded in September 2016 are also a part of the Foundation’s scholarship growth. Ulster Community College Foundation Inc. Chair Anita Williams Peck stated, “It’s amazing to witness the hope given to our students through the generosity and belief of our donors.”

Through the generosity of the many friends of the Foundation and the College, and under the auspices of the Foundation Board of Directors, the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. has developed into a thriving organization with eight million dollars in assets, mostly restricted to donor intentions. The scholarship funds constitute the most significant part of the endowment, making SUNY Ulster's scholarship program one of the most prominent among small community colleges in New York State. SUNY Ulster has been named among the top 100 public two-year colleges with the lowest net price after grant aid and scholarships by the US Department of Education.

The Ulster Community College Foundation was established in 1976 and incorporated in 1996 as a 501(c)3 charity. Since its inception, the Ulster Community College Foundation Inc. has awarded nearly four million dollars in scholarships to more than 6,000 students.
