College students can receive clothing donations at the newly opened Boutique.
Originally envisioned to assist graduates who needed business attire for job interviews, the focus expanded to include basic clothing items as well when many students lost their possessions due to Hurricane Irene.
The clothes pantry was established through the College’s Reaching Independence through Supportive Education (RISE) program with support from Darlene Pfeiffer, a local business owner, SUNY Ulster board member and UCC Foundation Inc. scholarship benefactor.
Donations are being accepted from the community for items ranging from gently used business suits and accessories such as belts, ties, scarves, jewelry and handbags, to basic school wear such as jeans, khakis and sneakers.
Please contact Kathy Keyser at 845-688-6010 with any questions. Items should be brought to the boutique at Senate 120 B. The boutique’s hours will be by appointment.
